About the position

Senior Strategist, Behavioral Science or Medical Anthropology

Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Strategy & Innovation, you will lead qualitative primary market research projects at a senior level. Your responsibilities will include inspiring your project team and maintaining the day-to-day client relationship, executing qualitative research (e.g. moderating, analysis, debrief-writing and delivery) to ensure an exceptional client experience. Utilizing your expertise in Behavioral Science (BSci) or Medical Anthropology(MedAnthro), alongside collaboration with our Human Science Center ofExcellence team members, you will generate profound insights into human behavior to develop strategic business solutions. You will also design and facilitate client co-creation sessions, to turn insight into strategy and tactics. Additionally, you will contribute to thought leadership by writing blogs and social media posts on Behavioral Science or Medical Anthropology topics, enhancing our clients' understanding of its unique application in our work.

Responsibilities & Duties

Project Delivery

  • Effectively leads multiple, complex, multi-phased, qualitative, primary, and secondary market research projects such as integrated patient, HCP, circle of care experience journeys; emotional drivers & barriers; concept development; optimizing and testing, etc. Oversees the project team, development of the strategic deliverables, and leads day-to-day client relationship.
  • Innovates with Human Science Center of Excellence, Foresight andExperience Design experts to deliver new frameworks and thinking models to solve client business challenges.
  • Leads all methods of fieldwork and is skilled at deep ethnographic interviewing. Has achieved mastery research skills across a range of modalities(e.g. interviewing, discussion groups, longitudinal digital ethnographic journaling, literature review, meta-analysis, etc…)
  • Leads their project team(s) in analysis, emerging the strategic story,crafting the strategy solution, and identifying tactical solutions.
  • Is skilled at emerging the deeper psychological drivers of belief and behavior, leading to the revelation of deep human insight, critical for client empathy and strategy creation.
  • Collaborates with projects’ Executive Sponsor that acts as a sounding board, and who will guide you in story refinement and strategic solution development.
  • Contributes to, leads, designs, and facilitates client and research participant co-creation workshops.

Client Relationship

  • Engages clients in discussions around their larger business issues and identifies opportunities for deepening client relationships.
  • Ability to identify strategic opportunities for a client, beyond what has been requested RFPs.
  • Can become a trusted advisor.

Communication Excellence

  • Effective in making complex information digestible (simplification, interesting visual representations, lay language, etc.).
  • Expert in delivering BSci/MedAnthro concepts in accessible, salient, and compelling ways.
  • Demonstrates confidence and knowledge when delivering findings and recommendations.

Thought Leadership

  • Leads BSci/MedAnthro thought leadership initiatives: including writing several blog posts per year, leading the development of lunch and learns, white papers, and other thought leadership initiatives.
  • Identifies opportunities for BSci/MedAnthro innovation within the FSi Strategy offering, leading the development of new tools, perspectives, and offerings.

Experience & Qualifications

  • PhD in Behavioral Science or Anthropology-related studies, Cognitive Neuroscience/Medical Anthropology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in strategy and qualitative primary market research with HCPs, patients, caregivers, in the health sciences/pharma industry.
  • Experience conducting and leading in-depth interviews with a range of healthcare stakeholders.
  • Proven success working with multidisciplinary and diverse teams.
  • Excellent client relationship skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and with the ability to emerge great thinking from others.
  • Strategic thinker, with strong analytic and writing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to empathy for research participants, client, and FSi Strategy teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Ability to travel (~20-30%) within North America for project work and business development.

Compensation and Work-Life Balance

This is a remote full-time permanent position in the salary range of $100k-$130k.

  • Show flexibility to help others outside of the current project you are working on (e.g., proposal development, brainstorms, thought leadership, etc.).
